Mortgage Websites Q&A
My company already gives me a profile page. Do I need my own site?
A profile page is the company's page with your photo on it. You cannot change how it is laid out, add pages about the loans and the towns you actually work in, or point it at your own reviews - and it stays behind if you ever move. Your own site carries your name and your domain, ranks for the places you lend in, and goes with you.
Is this a mortgage website builder, or do you build it for me?
Both, in the order that saves you the afternoon. You answer a few questions about your business and the site is built for you - pages, copy and layout - instead of starting from a blank template and dragging boxes around. Everything is yours to change afterwards, in plain language rather than a page editor, so you are never waiting on a designer to move a paragraph.
Do I need a web designer, or is the design done for me?
Done for you. There is no agency to brief, no quote to wait on and no round of revisions - the mortgage website design is built around the answers you give, and you can change any of it yourself afterwards. People who have paid for a designed site before are usually surprised by this part: the thing that took six weeks takes an afternoon, and it stays yours to edit.
Can I start from a mortgage website template?
Yes. The designs are built for mortgage rather than adapted from a general template pack, so the pages a borrower expects - rates, calculators, your licensing details, your reviews - are already there. You pick one and it is rewritten around your business instead of handing you a blank layout to fill in.
How long does it take, and who writes the content?
About five minutes from a ready-made design, or ten if you want one built around your own answers. The first draft of every page is written for you from what you tell us about your business, and you can change any word of it afterwards. On the higher plans new posts keep being written and scheduled for you - nothing goes live until you approve it.
I already have a website. Can I move it over?
Yes, and you keep your domain. Your current pages are read and rebuilt as they look, including your blog posts and their addresses, so nothing you have already earned in search is thrown away.
What does it cost, and is there a free way to do this?
The first 15 days cost nothing. After that it is a monthly plan - the tiers are on HomeMagnet's pricing page, which is where we keep prices so there is one place for them to be right. Free builders will host a page for you. What they will not do is write mortgage content, watch your reviews, or keep your licensing details the same on every page.
Do I have to run all of this myself?
No. The site publishes itself, posts are written and scheduled for you, and your reviews and search rankings are watched in the background. You approve things when you are asked - you do not have to remember them.
Is this part of my BNTouch CRM, or a separate product?
Separate, and sold separately: HomeMagnet has its own login and its own 15-day trial. It is a BNTouch service, so you can run it beside the mortgage CRM or on its own, and you do not need to be a BNTouch customer to use it.
Will leads from the site reach my BNTouch CRM?
Yes, almost instantly. An enquiry on your site is handed to BNTouch as it is submitted, with the page it came from, so it is in your pipeline and working through your follow-up while the borrower is still reading. Nothing is exported, imported or waiting in an inbox for somebody to notice it.
